Did you know that the colors you use in your branding subconsciously communicate a specific message to your audience about who you are, what you do, and what working with you will be like?
Everyone has at least one color that resonates most with your their personality, and is ideal to use in their branding. When you take color psychology into consideration when creating your brand, you end up with something that resonates with you and your ideal audience, and allows you to feel confident showing up as the leader of your brand.
What is Color Psychology, and How Does it Relate to Branding?
Color plays an incredibly important role in how your brand is perceived, how you show up as the face of your brand and the type of clients you attract. Beyond just providing a nice visual, each color (and sometimes, different shades of each color) has a personality type and “vibe” to it.
When you choose brand colors that resonate with who you are and the type of business you’re building, you will start to feel CONFIDENT showing up as the face of your brand and putting yourself out there for new opportunities.
Each color personality has a range of traits, strengths, weaknesses, preferences, and even interpretations. Today, we’re going to be talking specifically about how using green in your brand portrays you to your ideal client.
The Color Green in Branding
Green is a very nurturing color. If green is the main color of your brand, you are likely viewed as rejuvenating, empathetic, and peaceful. You are good at holding space for people who are suffering, as well as supporting people through tough times and soothing their nerves.
As a Green, your personality is respectful, gentle, and nurturing. You strive for balance and harmony in your life. As a practical, grounded, nature-loving person, you may feel unfulfilled if you are unable to reach balance and harmony. Your brand gives off peaceful, natural, harmonious vibes, and inspires health and wellness in others.
Your community loves you because you make them feel safe, and it’s easy to be vulnerable around you. You have a calming and peaceful disposition, you are connected with nature, and you are easy-going and flexible. Archetypes that are most commonly associated with the color green are Caregiver, Girl Next Door and Innocent.
However, some people may find that you lack the passion that motivates them – that you play it safe rather than taking big risks. If you use too much green in your branding, it can lead to potential clients feeling indifferent and ambivalent.
As a Green, you’re naturally gifted at seeing all sides of an argument, expressing your feelings openly, and handling crisis situations calmly. You value balance, generosity, acceptance, health, and flexibility.
However, you may fall into the trap of taking on others’ suffering as your own. As a Green, you are a natural empath – so be careful not to overdo it. You may also struggle with getting into action, executing ideas, achieving personal goals, or taking care of your own needs. You fear conflict, harm, letting someone down, or making the wrong decision. Because of that, you are always desiring to make others feel safe, to belong to a community, feel loved, and give back.
