5 Easy Ways to Make Your Personal Brand Stand Out Online

The online world is more crowded than ever, with tons of new personal brands and businesses popping up all the time (like, multiple millions of new businesses every single year). 

It can be hard to stand out!! And sometimes it can feel impossible to get your message to your ideal clients. I get it! 

BUT, the majority of business owners aren’t going to invest the time and resources required to actually uncover how they want to show up as the face of their brands, and put in the work to do it regularly in a way that grows their business.

This gives YOU a major advantage! Getting Vulnerable in Your Brand

You’ve heard it time and time again, and yet you still might be resisting getting vulnerable in your brand. I understand that it can be *really* scary to bring 100% of you into your brand and how you show up online. 

Speaking to a camera… comfortably!? Sharing my thoughts with… strangers online?! 

NO THANKS! 

I hear you. 

BUT…

Showing up authentically and vulnerably through your brand and marketing, as the face of your brand, is actually what allows people to know, like and trust you. 

Believe it or not, your audience wants to know the real, messy, imperfect you. Nobody resonates with the perfect leader, and nobody is inspired by someone they can’t relate to (aka, someone who tries to show up perfectly all the time). Showing up vulnerably and authentically swings the door wide open for your ideal clients to feel a real connection with you, and really relate to you and what you’re working towards. And THAT is when they want to work with you and buy from you.

It IS scary… but if you're willing to show up vulnerably online you'll have a much easier time building relationships, making connections that count, and building your business online through channels like social media and email marketing.

Sharing Your Opinion Online

Your brand REQUIRES your opinion to stand out. As a business owner, this is one of the most important personal branding and marketing lessons you can learn.

When you don’t share your opinion, it leaves people in the dark about where you stand. They wonder if they should trust you. Some might even lose respect for you.

When you don’t share your opinion, your audience stays small with luke-warm followers because you haven’t given them a reason to stand behind you, you haven’t shown them what you stand for.

Worst of all, when you don’t share your opinion, you don’t make an impact through your message or your business. 

And sure, some people may not want to hear, or agree with your opinions, but are these really the kinds of clients you want to work with anyway? (NO!)

When you clearly communicate what you stand for, what you believe in, and even what you refuse to tolerate, your audience gets a clear understanding of who you are and what working with you would be like. 

Consistency

When you don’t show up with consistency, nobody has the ability to remember who you are or why they would want to work with you. 

When a coaching program, talk or webinar doesn't work out as planned… Do you give up after the first try? Most of the time, the first time we do something doesn't go as well as we hope. But it's only by assessing what worked and what didn't, making changes, and trying again that you will start to see long term success in your business.

When you jump from one thing to the next, looking for immediate success and discarding anything that doesn't live up to those standards, this inconsistency makes your brand confusing to potential clients, you create more work for yourself, and you sabotage your business growth.

Consistency is not only important in terms of how you show up and communicate your offers, it’s also important to be consistent in how frequently you show up – whether that’s once every day, a few times or a week, or whatever your frequency is, just make sure to pick something and stick with it regularly over time.
