The Top Tools I Use to Run My Business

business Mar 25, 2022

There’s a lot that goes into running a successful business – and even more that goes on behind the scenes to keep everything organized, systemized, and automated. As a new entrepreneur, or one trying to re-organize your systems, it can be so hard to know which platforms or tools to choose when there are so many options out there.

So today, I’m laying all my cards on the table and showing you (almost) everything I use to keep my business running seamlessly and stress-free!

Also – there are some great discounts and special offers for you below from some of the platforms, so if you’re going to use them I highly recommend clicking those links (Yes, I am an affiliate of some of the platforms I’m sharing today and no, they’re not paying me to write this blog post. I only become an affiliate of tools I know, love and believe my community would benefit from as well)!

Kajabi

Kajabi is essentially my right hand in my day-to-day business operations. If you’re tired of trying to duct-tape everything together, dealing with mismatched parts that don’t flow together, and worrying about chasing down tons of different platforms with a million moving pieces, then this is the tool for you.

If you don’t know, Kajabi is an all-in-one online business platform. It allows you to host your website, build a course, open a membership, create and manage email marketing campaigns, sell digital products, manage affiliates, host your blog and so much more!

I love Kajabi so much that I’ve actually written TWO other blog posts on its benefits, you can check them out here: 9 Reasons Why Kajabi is my Platform of Choice and The Benefits of Using Kajabi to Host Your Signature Offer.

If you’re interested in learning more or trying Kajabi for yourself, I have an affiliate link for you to use! As a thank you, when you use my link you’ll receive a FREE 40-minute Kajabi Kick Start session with me to help you begin your journey on this amazing platform! Interact quiz builder

This is what I use to create my assessment-based offerings, like the Brand Archetypes Quiz and the Power Profile Assessment!

Not only do quizzes make for highly engaging and unique lead magnets, but your potential clients LOVE taking them because we humans like gaining new insights and understanding of ourselves.

Interact is a great tool because it gives you many template options to start out, and also the ability to customize literally everything to be on-brand. PLUS, it easily integrates with many of the most popular marketing tools like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, the Facebook Pixel, Kajabi (with Zapier) and so many more! If you’re looking into building a quiz for your brand, either as a lead magnet or as part of a paid offering, then I highly recommend Interact Quiz Builder!

Moo

For businesses with any in-person component, or any printed materials like business cards or brochures, an important thing to consider is where you’ll get these things printed.

While there are many options to choose from, my absolute favorite is Moo.com because their quality and customer service is outstanding.

They have almost every collateral piece you could possibly need, and offer an outstanding amount of customization, so every aspect of your printed collateral matches your brand. For your next printing project, use this link for 25% off your first order!

Acuity

If you need to schedule appointments, either in-person or virtually, and you’re sick of the back and forth “what time are you available” emails, then Acuity will quickly become your new best friend!

It’s an online calendar scheduling platform where you can set your available hours, keep track of client information and session notes, send automated reminders and follow up emails, customize everything to match your branding, and so much more.

Trello

There was my business before Trello and … after! I use Trello every single day to keep me organized, on-track, and working towards mine and my clients’ goals. Not only does it help keep ME on track, but it also gives me a fool-proof system to keep client projects organized.

Showing up for yourself and your clients in a way that’s organized and consistent will help build trust and authority, and ensure client satisfaction, mutual understanding, and consistent communication.

This is why Trello is such a great tool – it’s easy to use, intuitive, and can be so easily shared with clients or internal teams.

Creative Market

While there are a few different options for finding assets to use in your branding (think fonts, logo templates, illustrations, vector graphics, and more), Creative Market is by far my favorite! Not only can you search by what you’re looking for, you can also search by which platforms the assets are compatible with – so you can make sure what you’re getting will work with the tools you already have.

Creative Market is home to work from tens of thousands of designers world-wide, with millions of options to choose from on the platform. Never feel lost, confused, or underwhelmed again when searching for what you need (or just browsing for inspiration), with Creative Market

PicMonkey & Canva

Canva is probably the most popular online design tool. With a free membership option, beautiful templates, and tons of customization options, it’s no wonder why.

Canva’s free membership option comes with almost everything you could need to design beautiful collateral, and their paid membership option is affordable and comes with more than you would ever need to create beautiful designs. Plus, the interface is incredibly easy to use, even for beginners.

PicMonkey is fairly similar to Canva, however the design options are a little bit more advanced. PicMonkey does not offer a free membership option, but the paid options have everything you will need for designing beautiful collateral, and a “pro” option that comes with even more.

I personally use both of these tools for designing everything, because they both have different strengths and features I need for different designs! As someone who’s just starting out or trying to stay budget-conscious, you absolutely do not need both options, but using both will give you the most design potential!

Stripe

Stripe is what I use to collect all client payments, and they make it SO EASY to integrate into my website and create a seamless checkout process for my clients. This is hands-down the most popular and best payment option available online, and I recommend it for anyone who has paid products, memberships, or courses listed on their website and wants to create an easy checkout system.

Zoom

In the past few years, running my business without Zoom would’ve been nearly impossible. Whether I’m coaching clients, meeting with my team, or hosting Impact Circles and Laser Coaching Sessions, Zoom allows me to connect face-to-face with people, no matter where in the world we are!
